The head of the “Upper Egypt Electricity Distribution” company, in special statements he made to Masrawy, today, Wednesday, said that in relation to the issuance of the records of the judicial seizure resulting from citizens tampering with the electricity connections illegally, the company applies a system represented in not Signing or seizing any contravention or tampering except after it is “sound and image” portrayed in nature.

Abu Warda explained that there is consideration of the social dimension in the judicial seizure operations in particular and the calculation of the fine, stressing that no tampering offense is taken into account without being photographed in sound and image, saying: No report is recognized in the grievances committee without a video of a “sound and image of the incident” and conclusive evidence. .

The head of the “Upper Egypt Electricity Distribution” company added that there is installment in the fines or the minutes decided by the company or the grievance committee for some cases that have been seized and the report of the electricity seizure “theft of a current” is issued in the validity of the incident, confirming that the company follows a number of steps before it disconnects the power When the citizen has caught it and has not paid the value of the report within a certain period of time, and then allows him to file a grievance to search and review the record, and then determine the value of the violation or not, then the company, in the event that the violating citizen fails to pay the due value, transfers the incident to the Public Prosecution.

Abu Warda affirmed that it was possible for the citizen, who was signed to pay the fine, any part of the dues, after his agreement with the company on that, until a decision is made on the grievance that any citizen has the right to file within a period of 15 days from the date of the report, taking into account the season of operation, saying: “Any citizen He has the right to complain … and no action is taken without the grievance being examined. ”

Abu Warda indicated that the company, represented in the sectors and departments affiliated to it, has instructions and directives to implement the regulation of the Electricity Regulatory and Consumer Protection Agency in dealing with incidents of tampering with meters or illegally connecting electricity.

The head of the Upper Egypt Electricity Distribution Company asserted that the controls set by the Electricity Utility were in the interest of the citizen, stressing that the citizen’s social dimension in particular should be taken into account when writing any judicial seizure report.

Abu Warda confirmed that with regard to the issuance of the records of the judicial seizure and the tampering with the consumption of meters in the mosques during the month of Ramadan, several cases have been seized recently, whether in the mosques of the Ministry of Endowments or the National Authority, that illegally obtain electricity by making connections outside the meter, noting that 99 % Of the meters in mosques currently have been replaced by prepaid meters, saying: “The loss is public money, and we do not ask for more than the state’s right.”

Abu Warda noted that more than 200 minutes of mosques were seized in the governorates of the company in Sohag, Qena, Aswan and Luxor, in violation of the terms of the contract. Where some workers tamper with the meter by making connections directly outside the meter, noting that the shipment is alerted at an amount of “200 pounds” to charge the meter in the mosque, noting that if any tampering incident is detected in the meter inside any mosque, a judicial arrest report is issued in the name of the worker or Imam and preacher of the mosque as responsible for the mosque.
