The Saudi minister confirms the depth of relations between Egypt and the Kingdom

The Saudi Council of Ministers held its meeting today – via video call – headed by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Prime Minister.

At the beginning of the session, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques briefed the Council of Ministers on the content of the written message that he sent to his brother President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi, and what it contained in emphasizing the depth of the historical relations between the two countries and the two brotherly peoples, and the Kingdom’s keenness to strengthen the frameworks of strategic bilateral cooperation in various levels, and to continue the march Intensive joint work and coordination towards various regional and international issues.

The Council touched on a number of issues about the course of events and their developments in the region and the world, stressing the contents of the message that the Kingdom’s permanent delegation to the United Nations addressed to the Security Council, and the call to condemn the cowardly terrorist attack of the Iranian-backed Houthi terrorist militia that targeted Abha International Airport. And its military hostilities that undermine peace in Yemen, and stop its threats to international peace and security and hold them accountable, stressing in this context that the Kingdom will take all necessary measures; To preserve its lands and the safety of its citizens and residents in accordance with its obligations under international laws.

The Saudi Minister of Information, Dr. Majid bin Abdullah Al-Qasabi, stated that the Council of Ministers renewed the Kingdom’s support for the peaceful efforts to establish security and stability in the regions of the Middle East and the Eastern Mediterranean, and its affirmation before the Feliya Forum to build friendship and stability from the Mediterranean to the Arabian Gulf, the importance of intensifying consultations and coordination. To maintain security and peace in international sea lanes, in a manner that guarantees freedom of trade and navigation, respects the principles of sovereignty and good neighborliness between states, and condemns any external interference in the internal affairs of states; Including threatening international peace and security and global economic stability.

The Council expressed the Kingdom’s strong condemnation and denunciation of the cowardly terrorist attacks that targeted Erbil International Airport, and fully standing by the sisterly Republic of Iraq in all the steps and measures it takes. To preserve its security and support its efforts in fighting terrorist organizations that seek to undermine their stability and influence their sovereignty.

The Saudi Council of Ministers ended with the authorization of the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the General Authority for Competition – or his representative – to negotiate with the Egyptian side regarding a draft memorandum of understanding between the General Authority for Competition in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Authority for the Protection of Competition and the Prevention of Monopolistic Practices in the Arab Republic of Egypt regarding cooperation in the field of promoting competition And fighting monopolistic practices, signing it, and then uploading the final signed copy, to complete the legal procedures
