The price of the dollar in Egypt today, Tuesday, February 9, 2021

The average exchange rate of the dollar against the Egyptian pound decreased today, Tuesday, February 9, 2021, in early dealings of banks and exchange companies.

Egypt’s foreign exchange reserves continued their upward journey for the eighth month, after being affected by the repercussions of Corona for a period of 3 months.

The dollar fell

According to a survey by Al-Ain News on prices in 29 banks, the average price of the dollar in Egypt decreased today, Tuesday, to 15.61 pounds for purchase and 15.71 pounds for sale.

The increase in the monetary reserve of Egypt supported the strength of the local currency against the green paper, and also contributed to the stability of the money market and the absence of the parallel market.

The average price of the dollar in Egypt fell on the Central Bank of Egypt website, Tuesday, to 15,599 pounds for purchase, 15.699 pounds for sale, compared to about 15.61 pounds for purchase, and 15.71 pounds for sale.

The highest dollar rate

The price of the dollar in Egypt against the pound recorded the highest price at 15.64 pounds for purchase and 15.74 pounds for sale at the Arab Investment Bank.

The price of the dollar in Al-Ahly Bank and Egypt decreased by one penny, to 15.61 pounds for purchase, and 15.71 pounds for sale, which is the same price in 5 other banks.

While the lowest price for the dollar came at 15.59 pounds for purchase, and 15.69 pounds for sale, in 4 banks, the Commercial International, Alexandria, The United Bank, and the Arab International Bank.

Reserves are rising for the eighth month

On Thursday, the Central Bank of Egypt announced that it had kept the main interest rates unchanged, to remain the same for 3 months.

The Egyptian Central Bank also announced that the country’s foreign exchange reserves had risen to $ 40.101 billion last January.

According to Reuters, Egypt’s foreign exchange reserves were, at the end of last December, about $ 40.063 billion.

Egypt’s foreign exchange reserves began a rally since June, after having declined from March to May from a high of $ 45 billion, in light of the economic repercussions of the outbreak of the Coronavirus.

Euro and British Pound rates

The average euro exchange rate declined on the Central Bank’s website, Tuesday, to 18.76 pounds for buying, 18.88 pounds for selling, compared to about 18.79 pounds for buying, and 18.92 pounds for selling, on Monday.

While the average exchange rate of the pound sterling decreased at about 21.36 pounds for purchase, and 21.50 pounds for sale, compared to about 21.43 pounds for purchase and 21.58 pounds for sale.

Real, dinar and dirham rates

The average exchange rate of the Saudi riyal, at the Central Bank of Egypt, fell today, Tuesday, to about 4.158 pounds for purchase, 4.185 pounds for sale, compared to 4.161 pounds for purchase, and 4.188 pounds for sale.

The price of the Emirati dirham also decreased to 4.246 pounds for purchase, and 4.274 pounds for sale, compared to about 4.249 pounds for purchase, and 4.277 pounds for sale.

The Kuwaiti dinar declined, to 51.47 pounds for purchase, and 51.87 pounds for sale, compared to about 51.52 pounds for purchase and 51.98 pounds for sale, yesterday.

A document issued by one of the banks arranging the sale of bonds in Egypt in three segments stated that the country expects to collect about three billion dollars from the operation.
