The Central Committee of the “Fatah” movement held a meeting this evening, Saturday, headed by the President of the State of Palestine, Mahmoud Abbas Abu Mazen, at the presidential headquarters in Ramallah.

The Palestinian President praised the efforts made by Egypt and brotherly Jordan to hold a meeting of Arab foreign ministers, in order to unify the Arab position on the Palestinian issue as the central Arab issue, and to support Palestinian efforts to mobilize international support for holding an international conference and resolving the Palestinian issue in accordance with international legitimacy resolutions.

Regarding the political issue, the Fatah Central Committee reiterated that the Palestinian side is committed to a political solution based on the two-state solution and international legitimacy decisions, preserving the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people to freedom and independence and establishing their independent state with East Jerusalem as its capital on the borders of June 4, 1967.

To serve the security and protection of our people, she called on the international community to provide protection for our people from the attacks of settlers who had profaned Palestinian blood under the protection of the occupation army and its government, praising the steadfastness of our people in Jerusalem in the face of the fierce Judaization campaigns carried out by the occupation authorities against our eternal capital and its Islamic and Christian sanctities.
